After a short introduction, the thesis describes the process behind designing and building a lightweight stabilized robotic manipulator for a UAV. In its first part, the thesis focuses on the hardware design which is about the mechanical construction of the manipulator itself and the design of custom electronics together with a PCB. The second part is focused on software where a control algorithm that collects data from an onboard IMU and stabilizes the end effector is implemented on an STM32F411RE. The software part also includes communication with the UAV’s computer running ROS via UART. At the end of the thesis, the solution is tested on real hardware and a conclusion is made.
