| cze |
dc.description.abstract | Plasticized polyvinylchloride (PVC) gel has recently become a promising material for actuator construction thanks to its deformation in electrostatic field. Some characteristics of this type of actuator are large deformation, low power consumption, light weight and fast response, all in air at room temperature. These characteristics are quite like an organic muscle and are making the actuator a promising assist for the human musculoskeletal system. This work is based on achievements made by Shinshu University in Japan [1], [2] and [4] and its main purpose is to construct a working PVC gel type actuator with similar characteristics as in the mentioned works. To achieve this, we are using plasticizers that are obtainable in Czech Republic, these are diisobutyl adipate (DIBA) and dioctyl adipate (DOA). We are also mentioning different actuator construction types and their comparison with the PVC gel actuator. | eng |
