This diploma thesis is concerned with airborne sound insulation of lightweight building elements, especially its theoretical assessment and measurement. The first part of the thesis focuses on sound dispersion in buildings in general, sound types and and effect on a person. It also includes an overview of requirements for lightweight building constructions. Afterwards, the thesis focuses on common lightweight building elements and typical details of their installation, including the influence on acoustics. In the second part, the thesis states the airborne and sound insulation of lightweight building elements calculation procedure, including a statement of the methodology that is used, both within single-element and two-element constructions. The main part of the thesis is concerned with a laboratory measurement and sound insulation of selected lightweight building elements complexes calculation, including their mutual comparation.
