The thesis addresses the issue of wooden beam ends in peripheral walls with additionally applied internal insulation. The thesis involves a theoretical analysis of the issue using existing knowledge on this topic. The main part of the thesis deals with the computational investigation of wooden beam ends in a stationary 2D and 3D thermal-moisture model and the interpretation of the results of this investigation with respect to other connections. Parameters and geometry of real beam heads installed and monitored for a long time in the test field of the facade of the University Centre for Energy Efficient buildings of CTU served as the data for the modeling. Measured results from real experiment also served to compare used computational model with real conditions. On this verified 2D and 3D models, various variants of measures to improve the thermal-moisture conditions in the space of the masonry pockets were subsequently analyzed.
