The bachelor thesis is dealing with the radiation damage to materials considered for first walls of prospective ICF reactors. The general part of the thesis estimates both radiation and thermal loads on the first wall, provides an overview of relevant materials and their properties and summarizes published results of experiments testing selected materials by their well-controlled exposure to intense extreme ultraviolet and x-ray radiation delivered in a single pulse and multiple pulses. Methods used for analysis of irreversible changes in irradiated materials are described and utilized in the special part of the thesis. Detailed analysis of an action of many pulses of high-order harmonics in poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and amorphous carbon (a-C) is performed and reported here.
