Výsledky měření prokázaly přítomnost nebezpečných látek a kontaminaci policistů metamfetaminem a pseudoefedrinem.
The diploma thesis focuses on illegal methamphetamine laboratories and the health risks faced particularly by members of the Police of the Czech Republic, the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, and other units of the integrated emergency aid system who are involved in the elimination of such laboratories. These premises are a significant source of health risks to the officers present, as the laboratories contain a number of toxic residues that may, in case of insufficient protection, enter the human organism. Consequently, members of the integrated emergency aid system units involved may suffer serious acute as well as chronic diseases. The theoretical part defines the basic terminology, and outlines the basic physical and chemical properties of the chemical substances found at illegal laboratories, specifically the input substances (precursors), the intermediates generated during synthesis, and the final products. In addition, it defines selected concepts of related terminology used throughout the diploma thesis. The methodology employed for the diploma thesis includes analysis of the collected samples in a mass spectrometer, measurement of the concentrations of methylbenzene in the air inside an illegal laboratory, a questionnaire survey, and a case study. The measurement results proved the presence of hazardous substances and the contamination of police officers by methamphetamine and pseudoephedrine. The measurements showed that the concentration of methylbenzene inside an illegal laboratory amounts to 1,900 mg.m-3. The questionnaire survey supported the proposed hypotheses and proved that police officers are not sufficiently trained by their employer in terms of illegal laboratories, their own protection, and theoretical knowledge. This fact is further proved by a case study describing an actual police intervention in an illegal laboratory during which the police officers suffered intoxication and had to be hospitalised. The discussion compares the results of the analysis in a mass spectrometer and the measurements of the methylbenzene concentrations with foreign specialised literature on this topic. These publications indicate that foreign scientists as well as security forces address the danger faced by police officers at illegal laboratories in a significantly more intensive manner, compared to the situation in the Czech Republic. The discussion also includes suggestions of specific measures aimed at eliminating the risks faced by police officers.eng
