The aim of this diploma thesis was to evaluate the diagnosis of Charcot osteoarthropathy by means of individual imaging modalities focusing on three-phase scintigraphy of the skeleton supplemented with low dose CT in order to evaluate its contribution. One of the partial objectives was to determine the radiopharmaceutical assay criteria for skeletal scintigraphy that would clearly distinguish Charcot osteoarthropathy from osteomyelitis. An analysis of the cost-effectiveness of individual methods in relation to early detection of the disease was also elaborated. Procedural maps of the permeation of the patient were developed by a diagnostic process and a methodical procedure for the diagnosis of this disease. In terms of health insurance, the most cost-effective method is magnetic resonance, which is also referred to as the gold standard in foreign literature.
