Vliv práce dozorce ve Vězeňské službě na jeho psychiku

Abstract

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na výkon profese dozorce ve Vězeňské službě České republiky a její následný vliv na psychiku člověka, který tuto práci vykonává. Cílem práce je přinést ucelený náhled na problematiku při výkonu činnosti profese dozorce ve věznici. Prostřednictvím statistického výzkumu na základě anonymních dotazníků, verifikaci či falzifikaci námi stanovených hypotéz a to v souvislosti mezi prováděním činnosti dozorce a možností rozvoje syndromu vyhoření u této osoby. Obsah teoretické části práce se věnuje kritériím pro přijetí do služebního poměru a vlastní přípravy na zaměstnání dozorce. Současně popisuje nároky požadované na výkon této profese a s tím spojené možné fyzické, psychické i společenské dopady, při provádění této práce na člověka, v podobě syndromu vyhoření. Praktická část obsahuje informace a poznatky, jenž byly získány pomocí anonymních dotazníků s vyjádřením dozorců věznic, jak velkou psychickou zátěž při výkonu povolání osobně pociťují. Výzkum je klasifikován metodou sběru dat potřebných k jeho vyhodnocení prostřednictvím dvou typů dotazníků. Nestandardizovaného dotazníku, vlastní konstrukce a standardizovaný dotazník Burnout Measure. Dotazník je zaměřený na jediný psychický jev a to stav celkového vyčerpání. Tento dotazník má značnou míru shody s výsledky dalších psychologických vyšetření. Pro provedení výzkumu jsme zvolili skupinu zaměstnanců Vězeňské služby České republiky, kteří pracují na úseku vazby a výkonu trestu odnětí svobody. Tzn., že jsou přímými účastníky kontaktu s osobami s patologickými rysy osobnosti. Získaná data jsou v této části práce zpracována formou grafů. V závěrečné fázi jsou shrnuty výsledky a cíle práce a současně jsou poskytnuty náměty ohledně zlepšení péče o psychické zdraví personálu Vězeňské služby České republiky ze strany této instituce jako zaměstnavatele, které částečně vycházejí i z provedené komparace s výsledky jiných autorů

This thesis deals with the profession of prison guard in the Prison Service of the Czech Republic and its long-term mental effects on the person who serves in this position. The purpose of the thesis is to give a comprehensive insight in the challenges and situations faced by prison guards. For this purpose, statistical survey has been conducted based on anonymous questionnaires, verification or falsification of our original hypotheses with a particular focus on potential correlation between the profession of prison guard and the likelihood of the person developing the burn-out syndrome. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the criteria used for recruiting new personnel for the prison guard positions and the actual preparation for the job. It also describes the requirements for the profession and the related physical, mental and social impacts on the person who works as prison guard, mainly manifesting in the form of the burn-out syndrome. The practical part summarizes information and findings gained by means of anonymous survey questionnaires from prison guards, in which they expressed the level of mental stress subjectively perceived while working in their positions. The survey is classified by means of collection of data needed for its evaluation by means of two types of questionnaires: a non-standardized questionnaire designed by the thesis author, and the Burnout Measure standardized questionnaire. The questionnaire focuses on a single mental phenomenon, namely a complete exhaustion. The questionnaire shows a great degree of consistency with other psychological examination methods. After conducting the survey, we selected a group of staff from the Prison Service of the Czech Republic who work in the Detention and Imprisonment Sections. Therefore, those persons are in direct contact with persons showing pathological personality traits. The data gathered from the surveys is presented in this section by means of charts. The final part of the thesis summarizes the results and objectives of the paper; at the same time, it suggests ways how the Prison Service of the Czech Republic as the prison guards' employer could improve care for the mental health of their staff, with the recommendations being partially based on a comparison of the survey results with the findings and conclusions made by other authors.
