Bazální stimulace v dlouhodobé intenzivní péči

Abstract

Bazální stimulace je konceptem přístupu k nemocným, nejčastěji s neurologickým postižením různé etiologie. Koncept je aplikován v rámci celodenní péče a komunikace a zahrnuje všechny, kteří přijdou s pacientem do kontaktu od zdravotníků po rodinu. Bazální stimulace má široké spektrum využití, tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na její aplikaci u pacientů v dlouhodobé intenzivní péči, kteří trpí poruchou vědomí, vnímání a komunikace. Teoretická část této práce rámcově popisuje anatomii a fyziologii nervové soustavy a dále problematiku poruch vědomí a jejich diagnostiku. Nedílnou součástí teoretické části je i přiblížení konceptu bazální stimulace, jeho teoretická východiska, cíle a principy. V praktické části je popsána metodika výzkumu, představeno pracoviště, kde byl výzkum realizován, vysvětleny použité vyšetřovací i terapeutické metody a zpracovány čtyři kazuistiky sledovaných pacientů. Důležitou součástí práce je shrnutí výsledků, diskuze a závěr. V kapitole diskuze jsou porovnány vlastní poznatky a výsledky s odbornými publikacemi.

The concept of basal stimulation concerns an approach to patients typically affected by neurological disorders of various etiologies. This concept applies to day-care and communication practices and it involves everyone who comes into contact with the patient, i.e. healthcare professionals and the family. Basal stimulation has wide applicability; this bachelor thesis focuses particularly on its use in the treatment of patients in long-term intensive care who suffer from cognitive, perceptive and communicative impairments. The theoretical section describes the anatomy and physiology of the nervous system in general, as well as issues of cognitive disorders and their diagnosis. An integral part of the theory covers the concept of basal stimulation, its background, objectives and principles. In the practical section, the research methodology is described followed by an introduction of the workplace where the research was conducted. Furthermore, the examination and therapy methods used are explained and four case studies of patients' profiles are reviewed. In the final section, a summary of findings is followed by a discussion and a final conclusion. In the chapter on discussion, the results and findings are compared in relation to and in the context of professional publications.
