This diploma thesis deals with the problem of uniaxial crystals and the issue of cut-out from them. The theoretical part summarizes the properties of light, its changes in the passage through the crystal itself, and provides an overview of the methods of crystal growth for industrial usage and the basic properties of these crystals. In addition, the paper contains a basic description of tools for C ++ simulation in OpenGL graphics. In the follow-up practical part, this knowledge is used to create a program that allows the crystal cut simulation and subsequent export of the cut-off parameter into pdf format. The program allows the user to find the optimal cutting position. Users can customize this location or save the results to an external file.
