The subject of this thesis is the exploration of control methods for asynchronous motor using the dsPIC microcontroller. The thesis briefly describes asynchronous motor, voltage-type frequency converter, and various types of output voltage modulation. Basic control methods and speed control of voltage fed asynchronous motor are also outlined. Furthermore, the dsPICDEM MC1 board, dsPIC30F6010 microcontroller, and dsPICDEM MC1H converter are described, along with the possibilities of speed control implementation using these components. Specifically, the implementation of one of the control methods is described, and the measured results on a real motor from the implemented control are presented.
