This thesis is focused on basic concepts of invariant sets and fractal geometry. The most famous fractal sets are presented here as well as their construction and properties in terms of topology and measure theory. The small and large inductive dimensions are defined as well as their relations and summation properties. Furthermore, two procedures for the construction of the outer measure and the introduction of the Hausdorff measure followed by the definition of Hausdorff dimension are presented here. Subsequently, the iterated function systems and the possibility of visualization of invariant sets is described. The final part is dedicated to the visualization of invariant sets using the chaos game algorithm which uses iterated function systems and the effect of the probability of selecting functions on the shape of invariant sets.
