K uvedení do provozu a následnému řízení byly použity zdroje elektrického napájení, drivery k motorům, mikroprocesor Arduino MEGA a mikropočítač Raspberry Pi. Bylo proto potřeba nově zakoupený detektor optimálně umístit do konstrukce spektrometru, připojit ho k řídicí elektronice a kompatibilitu s řídicí elektronikou otestovat. This thesis deals with the modernization of the Specord M42/400 spectrometer. These spectrometers were manufactured in the 1980s by Carl Zeiss Jena. The spectrometer was no longer functional and therefore it was necessary to start repairing it. The modernization was carried out with my colleague Bc. Lukáš Bláha, who focused on the software part of the problem and I worked on the hardware part. The modernization process started with a research focused on the spectrometry itself. It was necessary to get acquainted with the basic principles of spectrometry, optics and also with the functioning of the instruments used for spectrometry. All of this information was used to understand the design and operation of the upgraded Specord M42/400 spectrometer. The practical part of the upgrade was divided into two parts. In the first part, I focused primarily on the assembly and electrician work, which I used to fully understand the workings of the spectrometer and also to repair it. The spectrometer was disassembled into its individual components and its electronics (motors, sensors, light sources) that were located inside the structure were identified. All wires were matched to the electronic components, which were tested and put into operation. Power supplies, motor drivers, an Arduino MEGA microcontroller and a Raspberry Pi microcomputer were used for commissioning and subsequent control. Once the issues relating to the control, wiring and placement of the new electronics in the spectrometer design had been resolved, I turned my attention to the detector. This was a photomultiplier that evaluates the intensity of radiation at different wavelengths. It was not possible to use this original photomultiplier due to the absence of the old electrical schematic. It was therefore necessary to optimally place the newly purchased detector in the design of the spectrometer, connect it to the control electronics and test its compatibility with the control electronics. The result of my thesis is a spectrum recording experiment performed on the upgraded spectrometer.
