Makroekonomická analýza Velké Británie v kontextu Brexitu

Abstract

Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce je zjištění očekávaných dopadů na ekonomický vývoj Velké Británie v souvislosti s jejím odchodem z Evropské unie. Teoretická část umožňuje nahlédnout do předpokládané struktury těchto dvou subjektů, a to pomocí vymezení dvou pravděpodobných bilaterálních podmínek jejich budoucího vztahu. Jednotlivé dohody jsou vysvětleny z hlediska změn u mezinárodního obchodu, investic a pohybu zaměstnanců. Práce využívá spektrum zahraniční i domácí literatury, pomocí které jsou objasněny očekávané ekonomické posuny VB. Následující makroekonomická analýza, která je provedena v praktické části, ověřuje budoucí vztahy jednotlivých ekonomických složek VB po brexitu, a je primárně zaměřena na tvorbu HDP, spotřebu, investice, zaměstnanost a zahraniční obchod v období od začátku roku 2008 až do konce roku 2019. Ke zkoumaní vzájemných vztahů je využívaná metoda Pearsonova a Spearmanova korelačního koeficientu, která hledá (ne)existenci a sílu závislosti jednotlivých ukazatelů. S pomocí výsledků bylo možné popsat a objasnit pohyby, ke kterým by v souvislosti s opuštěním Evropského jednotného trhu a celní unie mohlo dojít. Jedná se především o silný propad u exportu, investic a hrubého domácího produktu.

The main goal of this thesis is to determine the expected impacts on the economic development of Great Britain in the context of Brexit. The theoretical part provides an insight into the expected structure of these wo entities, by defining two probable bilateral conditions of their future relationship. The individual agreements are explained in terms of changes in international trade, investment and employee movements. The paper uses a range of foreign and domestic literature, which is used to clarify the expected economic shifts in the UK. The following macroeconomic analysis, which is performed in the practical section, verifies the future relations of individual economic components of the UK after Brexit and is primarily focused on GDP, consumption, investment, employment and foreign trade in the period from early 2008 to the end of 2019. The Pearson's and Spearman's correlation coefficient method is used to examine the (non)existence and strength of the relationship between particular indicators. Thanks to the results, it was possible to describe and explain the shifts which could occur in the UK after leaving the European single market and the customs union. The main find-ings are primarily a strong decline in exports, investment and gross domestic product.
