Analýza teroristických útoků na měkké cíle na území Evropské unie v letech 2011 - 2018

Abstract

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou teroristických útoků proti měkkým cílům na území EU v letech 2011-2018. Tento typ útoků se do povědomí obyvatel EU dostal především v souvislosti s růstem teroristické organizace IS a šířením jejího vlivu mezi západní společnost. Pro EU, založenou na demokratických principech, představují teroristické útoky zdroj neustálého strachu, který se projevuje stále silnějším xenofobním smýšlením obyvatelstva. Teoretická část bakalářské práce byla věnována objasnění používaných pojmů a přiblížení současného stavu na Blízkém východě, který má vliv na bezpečnostní situaci v EU. Dále se práce zabývala objasněním termínu terorismus, motivačními faktory teroristů a popisem jednotlivých forem zbraní. Zahrnuti byli také původci hrozby terorismu, jejichž působení lze v EU v posledních letech nejčastěji pozorovat. V neposlední řadě byla nastíněna problematika ochrany měkkých cílů, jejich atraktivita pro potencionální útočníky a základní principy této ochrany. Cílem práce bylo popsat trendy související s teroristickými útoky proti měkkým cílům ve sledovaném období, čehož bylo dosaženo v praktické části. Praktická část sestává ze statistické analýzy dat, na jejímž základě byly zhodnoceny trendy útoků proti měkkým cílům na území EU a která byla vyjádřena formou grafů. Sledovány byly útoky v jednotlivých zemích, počty obětí, motivy a použité zbraně. Dále byla provedena komparace teroristických útoků v Nice a v Barceloně, u nichž byly nalezeny shodné aspekty, jako motivace útočníků či použitá zbraň. Významnou částí je také SWOT analýza zabezpečení měkkých cílů, konkrétně parků, náměstí, ulic a promenád a následná obecná doporučení na zvýšení jejich odolnosti.

This bachelor's thesis deals with terrorist attacks against soft targets on the territory of the EU in 2011-2018. This type of attack came to the attention of EU inhabitants especially in connection with the growth of the IS terrorist organization and the spread of its influence to western society. For the EU, founded on democratic principles, these terrorist attacks represent a source of unceasing fear that is manifested by the ever growing xenophobic persuasion of its inhabitants. The theoretical part of this bachelor's thesis focuses on clarifying the used terms and the current situation in the Middle East that affects the security situation in EU. The work also deals with clarifying the term "terrorism", motivation factors of terrorists and a description of particular kinds of weapons. It also includes originators of the terrorist threat whose operations in EU in recent years can be mostly seen. The next point is the protection of soft targets, their activity for potential attackers and the key principles for their protection. The aim of the work was to describe trends linked with terrorist attacks against soft targets in the surveyed period, which was achieved in the practical part. The practical part consists of a statistical analysis of data in the form of graphs where attacks in particular countries, the number of victims and the guns used were observed. This analysis helped to evaluate trends of attacks against soft targets in the EU. The next point was a comparison of the terrorist attacks in Nice and Barcelona where common aspects were found such as the motivation of the attackers and the gun used. A SWOT analysis of soft target protection, including parks, squares, streets and promenades, and the resulting general recommendation to increase their resistance, is another significant part of this bachelor's work.
