Brachyterapie v léčbě nádorů ORL oblasti

Abstract

Bakalářská práce se zabývá léčbou zhoubných nádorů v oblasti hlavy a krku pomocí brachyterapie. Teoretická část této práce obsahuje stručný popis anatomie ORL orgánů, incidence výskytu zhoubných novotvarů ve světě, rizikových faktorů pro vznik onemocnění, popis symptomů a stanovení klinického stádia onemocnění. Dále jsou popsány jednotlivé způsoby léčby nádorových onemocnění hlavy a krku. Podrobněji jsou popsány různé modality radioterapie včetně brachyterapie, jejich indikace, plánovaní, realizace léčby a možné komplikace, které mohou vzniknout v průběhu léčby. Velká část bakalářské práce je věnována samotné brachyterapii hlavy a krku, zdrojům záření používaným v brachyterapii a technikám implantace. Praktická část práce je věnována porovnání technik brachyterapie a radioterapie v léčbě zhoubných nádorů hlavy a kru. Porovnání bylo provedeno na základě literární rešerše vycházející z odborných článků o výsledcích léčby ORL nádorů pomocí radiační terapie. Odborné články pocházejí z databáze Scopus a ScienceDirect a jsou věnovány výsledkům výzkumu nežádoucích účinků spojených s léčbou prostřednictvím brachyterapie a radioterapie, úspěšnosti léčby a přežití pacientů v rámci sledovaných skupin.

This bachelor thesis examines the treatment of malignant tumors in the head and neck areas, using brachytherapy. The theoretical part of this thesis contains a brief description of the anatomy of ENT organs, the incidence of malignant neoplasms in the world, risk factors for the disease development, description of the symptoms and determination (definition) of the clinical stage of the disease. Different methods of treatment of head and neck cancer are presented in this thesis as well. In detail there are described various modalities of radiotherapy including brachytherapy, their indication, planning, treatment, and possible complications which may arise during and after treatment. A large part of this bachelor thesis contains a description of the brachytherapy of head and neck itself, radiation sources, which are used in brachytherapy, and techniques of implantation. The practical part of this thesis presents a comparison of brachytherapy and radiotherapy techniques in the treatment of head and neck cancer. The comparison was made on the basis of literary research and includes articles about treatment of ENT tumors by radiation therapy. The articles were looked up in Scopus and ScienceDirect. The articles examine the side effects of brachytherapy and radiotherapy, treatment success and overall survival within the monitored groups.
