Datová analýza studentského hodnocení výuky

Abstract

Cieľom našej práce bolo zanalyzovať dátové zdroje hodnotenia vedecko-výskumnej činnosti, študijných výsledkov a študentského hodnotenia výuky, a na ich základe definovať hypotézy korelácie vedecko-výskumných výsledkov vyučujúcich, hodnotenia vyučujúcich v ankete a študijných výsledkov študentov. V práci sme sa obmedzili na skúmanie jednoduchej korelácie, ktorá popisuje vzťah medzi dvomi náhodnými veličinami. Stanovili sme hypotézy závislosti publikačnej činnosti vyučujúceho a jeho celkového hodnotenia v ankete, vplyvu pedagogickej vyťaženosti vyučujúceho na jeho publikačnú činnosť a nakoniec sme skúmali závislosť študentmi udelených hodnotení v ankete od ich prospechu. Pre overenie prvých dvoch uvedených hypotéz, sme využili metódy, ktoré sú vhodné pre overenie závislosti spojitých náhodných veličín a to vizualizáciu skúmaných veličín formou bodového grafu, hodnoty kovariancie, ako aj hodnoty korelačného koeficientu. Hypotézu sme zamietli, alebo nezamietli na základe testu o nulovej korelácií dvoch náhodných veličín. Poslednú hypotézu sme overili testom nezávislosti v kontingenčnej tabuľke. Zistili sme, že publikačné výsledky vyučujúceho kladne korelujú s jeho hodnotením v študentskej ankete, ako aj s jeho pedagogickou vyťaženosťou, a nezamietame existenciu závislosti medzi študentom udeleným hodnotením v študentskej ankete a intervalom jeho študijného priemeru.

The goal of this thesis was to analyze data from the evaluation of scientific research, study results and student evaluation of teaching and based on the findings define hypotheses of the correlation between these variables. This research focuses only on simple correlation which describes the relationship between two random variables. We defined hypotheses of the dependency between publication activity of a teacher and their cumulative rating, the impact of their teaching workload on their publication activity and finally we studied the dependency between the students’ ratings of the teachers and their grade average. To verify our first two hypotheses, we used methods suitable for verifying dependency of random continuous variables, such as visualization of the variables in the form of a scatter plot, covariance values and correlation coefficient values. Based on results of testing for zero correlation we either rejected or failed to reject the hypothesis. The last hypothesis was verified using the test of independence in a contingency table. We have found that the publication results of a teacher positively correlate with their student poll rating as well as with their teaching workload. The existence of dependency of the student’s rating of teaching and their grade average was not rejected.
