The first part of this bachelor thesis focuses on the genesis of elements since the Big Bang nucleosynthesis through thermonuclear fusion within stars up to the supernova’s explosion. In the following section, basic principles of shaping of first minerals in the surroundings of stars and during planetary accretion are explained. The next chapter clarifies terms meteoroid, meteor and meteorite and is followed by a brief description of a laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) method and its use for space purposes. Eighty LIBS spectra of minerals, relevant for spectra of meteorites in terms of their composition, were recorded within the study of chemical composition and mineralogy of interplanetary matter. These results were then manually processed and described. The spectra were afterwards used to compile a qualitative atlas, which should serve as a helpful tool for a primal description and understanding of meteorites spectra. Finally, spectra of sporadic meteors were described with the use of the atlas.eng
