Abstract

Symbol celého města a jeho největší klenot - Františkův pramen určuje počátek Národní třídy, která tvoří nejvýznamnější osu protínající celé město. Její konec je však rozpačitý. Nikam neústí a nestojí zde ani žádná druhá dominanta. Využívám klasicistní kruhový pavilon Františkova pramene a inverzně ho otáčím. Na počátku osy tak stojí pavilon jako hmota v prostoru, na konci osy pavilon jako prostor ve hmotě - kruhové strium, kolem kterého vzniká velý objekt mětské knihovny.

Symbol of the city and its greatest gem - The spring of František - determine the beginning of National street, which forms the major axis intersecting the entire city. Compared to that, the end of the axis is a bit unclear, continuing without any aim, having not other closing dominant. I use the classicist circuar pavilion of František´s spring turning it inversity. At the beginning of the axis, the pavilion appears as mass in space, at the end of the axis, the pavilion represents space in mass - a circular atrium around which the whole building of the city library is create.
