The aim of this thesis is to find out the advantage of higher usage of prefabrication in bridge construction. Firstly, the development of transport, the state of road and highway infrastructure and the process and aim of investments in transport infrastructure of the Czech Republic are analyzed. In addition, information, experience and knowledge from the countries where the usage of prefabrication is the most extensive and successful are further analyzed. Subsequently, the selected bridge element was compared as if it was done by both methods - by the cast-in-place method and by prefabrication. Finally, this information can be used to formulate suggestions for possible solutions for improving or modifying current procedures for the construction of bridge buildings in the Czech Republic.
