dc.description.abstract | This thesis deals with highly sensitive method of tumor detection in order to detect the presence of tumors at their earliest stages of development. Two complex methods of soft tissue imaging are combined: phase contrast radiography and elastography. It is reasonable to combine these two methods because there is no connection between mechanical properties investigated by elastography and visibility of the tissue on phase contrast image, so that this combination brings two independent pieces of information about the investigated tissue. The aim is focused on development of a suitable algorithm for evaluation of phase contrast x-ray elastography images. Presented algorithm is based on digital image correlation and it is designed in MATLAB?, MathWorksTM. It can be used for various elastographic methods. In this work, a quasi-static method where the shear deformation is applied externally by linear stage was tested for algorithm evaluation. For phase contrast imaging, the X-ray tube with high lateral and no chromatic coherence was used. | cze |
