The bachelor thesis studies the issue of the negative impact of extraordinary events on the mental well-being of a prison warden. The thesis is focused on mapping a large organization, namely the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, analyzing in particular the characteristics of a warden in the department of service of a term of imprisonment. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts, such as security and extraordinary situation in prison service. Furthermore, it defines psychological concepts related to the topic, such as stress, crisis, trauma and crisis intervention. It also offers information on the provisioning of psychological care that is secured by the security body for its members. At the same time, it provides a comprehensive overview of the possibilities of use of psychological intervention services by the prison service members. The practical part specifies the aims and hypotheses and describes the research sample and methods used. The aim of the research performed in Vinařice prison by distributing an anonymous non-standardized questionnaire was to find out which extraordinary events are most dangerous for a warden's mental health. The research at the same time looked into the usability of psycho-social intervention services by warden service members. The data acquired are for clarity purposes arranged in tables and charts. The discussion compares the results found by us with the results presented by other authors, which are not significantly different from the results of other research made. The conclusion summarizes the findings and aims of the thesis, suggesting that the Prison Service of the Czech Republic should pay more attention to psychological care, for which they could adapt the highly-developed system of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic.eng
