Renovation of the former stables of the CBN in Plasy

Abstract

Bývalé konírny kláštera Plasy jsou typickou ukázkou barokní architektury z poloviny 18. století. Původně sloužily velkolepému klášternímu komplexu Plasy jako stáje pro koně a další hospodářská zvířata, dnes jsou však ve stavu mírného rozkladu. Národní technické muzeum chce objekt zrekonstruovat a změnit jeho využití tak, aby sloužil jako prostor pro uskladnění velkorozponových exponátů, restaurátorské a workshopové dílny a prostor pro přenocování studentů. Za tímto účelem muzeum požádalo studenty Katedry architektury na FSv ČVUT o zpracování studie revitalizace objektu s možností ubytování, dílnami a depozitářem. Tento příspěvek se zaměří na konstrukční problémy spojené s realizací těchto návrhů. Za tímto účelem bude tato práce upozorňovat na konstrukční poškození a obavy související s případnou celkovou rekonstrukcí nebo sanací stavby, poskytne návrhy na opravu těchto poškození a také analyzuje hlavní konstrukční systémy stavby, které podléhají zatížení z jednoho konkrétního návrhu. V tomto dokumentu je identifikováno několik obav, včetně otázek zasolení stěn, infiltrace vlhkosti a nedostatků v pevnosti konstrukce příhradového systému, které by měly být při renovaci řešeny. Byly navrženy nové omítky a zlepšení půdy, aby se vyřešily problémy spojené se zasolením a vzlínáním vody, a také některé nové detaily odvodnění. Pro zvýšení nosnosti krovové soustavy byla rovněž navržena nová vylepšení odolnosti v tahu. Tento dokument by měl přispět k pochopení současného stavebnětechnického stavu stájí a toho, co bude nutné udělat pro jejich opětovné uvedení do provozu.

The former stables of the Plasy monastery are a typical example of baroque architecture that dates to the mid-18th century. They originally served the grand monastery complex of Plasy as a stable for horses and other livestock but today they are in a state of mild decay. The Czech National Technical Museum wishes to renovate the structure and change its use to serve as a workshop space and area for overnight student accommodations. To this end the museum has sought proposals from architectural students at CVUT for new designs to accommodate students and workshops. This paper will focus on the structural challenges of making these proposals a reality. To accomplish this, this paper will highlight structural damages and concerns related to any general renovation or rehabilitation of the structure, provide suggestions for the repair of those damages, as well as examine the main structure systems of the structure subject to the loading from a more specific design proposal. Identified in this paper is several concerns including issues of salinity in the walls, moisture infiltration, and structural strength deficiencies in the truss system that should be addressed in the renovation. Replaster and soil improvements have been suggested to address the concerns of salinity and water infiltration as well as some new drainage details. New tensile resistance upgrades have also been proposed for the truss system to increase capacity. This paper should help give an understanding of the current structural state of the stables and what will be required to bring them back into service of the community.
