Typologie obchodních staveb v 60. a 70. letech 20. století v československé architektuře

Abstract

Disertační práce si klade za cíl popularizovat jedno ze specifik československé poválečné architektury – obchodní typologii. Právě obchod s nastupujícím stylem spotřebního života lze považovat za určitou schizofrenii socialistického státu. Předložený text se věnuje nejzásadnějším typologiím obchodní architektury 60. a 70. let 20. století – obchodním střediskům a obchodním domům. Na začátku práce seznamuje s vědecko-výzkumným problémem, cílem a metodikou, stanovuje základní pojmy a popisuje současný stav bádání. Zkoumané typologie jsou nejdříve díky exkurzu do historie obchodu a obchodních staveb uvedeny do kulturně-historických souvislostí a sociálně-ekonomický kontext přináší vhled do společensko-hospodářské situace a maloobchodu v socialistickém Československu. Hlavní část práce se zaměřuje na chronologický vývoj československých obchodních středisek a obchodních domů z 60. a 70. letech 20. století, jenž je uveden do evropského a částečně světového kontextu. U obchodních středisek je kladen důraz na urbanisticko-hmotové a dopravní řešení, v případě obchodních domů se popis vývoje soustředí na urbanisticko-hmotové, architektonicko-estetické, provozně dispoziční i konstrukčně technické řešení. V neposlední řadě se práce zabývá porevoluční společenskou transformací, vztahem k poválečné architektuře, soudobými trendy v maloobchodu a současným stavem zkoumaných typologií. Závěr práce shrnuje její výsledky, zhodnocuje dosažení definovaných cílů a uvádí možnosti uplatnění v praxi. Významnou součástí práce je příloha – Katalog, který přináší graficky jasný soupis publikovaných realizovaných i nerealizovaných československých obchodních středisek a obchodních domů z období 60. a 70. let 20. století (s možnými přesahy) včetně soupisu dostupných informačních zdrojů.

The dissertation aims to popularize a type of the specific post-war Czechoslovak architecture – retail commercial buildings. Indeed, commerce with the emerging style of consumer lifestyle can be regarded as a certain schizophrenia of the socialist state. The presented text deals with the most significant typologies of commercial buildings from the 1960s and 1970s – shopping centres and department stores. At the beginning the research-related problem, aim and methodology, basic keywords and the current level of research are introduced. The examined architecture typologies are initially placed in cultural-historical and social-economic contexts through an excursion into the history of trade and commercial buildings and a description of the socio-economic situation and the concept of retail in socialist Czechoslovakia. The main part of the thesis focuses on the chronological evolution of Czechoslovak shopping centres and department stores from the 1960s and 1970s. This development is placed in a European and a partially global context. Regarding shopping centres, the emphasis is on urbanism-volume and transport solutions, and in the case of department stores, the description of the evolution focuses on urbanism-volume, architectural-aesthetic, functional layout and construction-technical solutions. Lastly, the work deals with post-revolution social transformation, the relationship with post-war architecture, contemporary trends in retail and the current condition of the examined architecture typologies. The conclusion summarizes the results of the work, evaluates the achievement of the defined aims and presents the potential practical applications. An important part of the work is the appendix – the Catalog – which provides a visually clear inventory of published, realised and unrealised Czechoslovak shopping centres and department stores from the 1960s and 1970s (with possible overlaps), including a list of available information sources.
