Abstract

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na kryptoměnu bitcoin jako potenciální alternativu k investování do drahých kovů, zejména zlata. Cílem práce je posoudit výhodnost investování do bitcoinu ve srovnání s investováním do zlata. V teoretické části se čtenář seznámí s vlastnostmi a funkcemi peněz a jejich historickým vývojem. Následně je představena problematika Bitcoinu, vysvětlen jeho princip fungování a důvod jeho vzniku. Dále jsou uvedeny další investiční možnosti na finančním trhu, jejich výhody a nevýhody. V praktické části je provedena analýza vývoje ceny bitcoinu, zkoumání největších rizik spojených s investováním do bitcoinu a analýza možného výnosu, kterého má tato investice potenciál dosáhnout. Čtenář se seznámí s volatilitou ceny bitcoinu a jeho vzácností. Následuje analýza zlata, zaměřená na jeho historický vývoj ceny a výhody investice do zlata. V závěrečné části práce je zhodnoceno, jaké výhody přináší investování do bitcoinu, a jsou představena doporučení pro potenciální investory ohledně této investiční příležitosti.

The master's thesis focuses on the cryptocurrency bitcoin as a potential alternative to investing in precious metals, particularly gold. The aim of the study is to evaluate the advantages of investing in bitcoin compared to investing in gold. In the theoretical part, the reader is introduced to the properties and functions of money and their historical development. Subsequently, the issue of Bitcoin is presented, explaining its operating principles and the reasons for its creation. Furthermore, other investment opportunities in the financial market, their advantages and disadvantages, are discussed. In the practical part, an analysis of the price development of bitcoin is conducted, examining the major risks associated with investing in bitcoin and analyzing the potential return that this investment can achieve. The reader will become familiar with the volatility of the bitcoin price and its scarcity. This is followed by an analysis of gold, focusing on its historical price development and the advantages of investing in gold. In the concluding part of the thesis, the benefits of investing in bitcoin are assessed, and recommendations for potential investors regarding this investment opportunity are presented.
