In the theoretical part, this thesis discusses the usability of available CFD software for fire modelling and their subsequent comparison in terms of the comprehensiveness of functions and user interface. In this part of the thesis, the division of fire models into two basic groups is presented, of which the core group of this thesis are mathematical models, especially CFD models. The history and development of CFD models, and the mathematical basis of CFD software, the basic submodels (e.g. burning) for fire simulation in CFD models and modeling limits are described here. Regarding CFD software for fire modeling, currently available soft-ware are mentioned here. The description of the software is mainly focused on modeling pos-sibilities and functions, the user interface and their usability. For clarity, overview tables are prepared with the identified functions and user interface. Subsequently, the mentioned CFD software are compared and evaluated based on the comprehensiveness of functions. In the practical part of the thesis, an analysis of selected CFD software is carried out on a specific solved example. In the selected software, two variants of the solved model are created, i.e. a room with ventilation and a room without ventilation. The source of the fire is a wooden table with a prescribed heat release rate, which serves as the main input to the select-ed software. The analysis aims to model both variants of the example in all selected CFD software and then compare the selected output parameters. The investigated parameters are the heat release rate, the temperature of the ceiling structure and the concentration of toxic gases in relation to visibility. To obtain the visibility parameter, an analytical calculation of the visibility and the speed of smoke release is performed for some software. The output values of all investigated parameters are subsequently converted into graphs and compared in terms of the mathematical basis. The selected CFD software are finally evaluated in terms of controlla-bility, functionality, comprehensiveness of functions and availability. For the analysis of the load-bearing capacity of a reinforced concrete ceiling slab during a fire, the temperatures on the surface of the slab according to ČSN EN 1991-1-2 and at the point of reinforcement are determined from the temperature curves of the ceiling structure (output from CFD programs). Subsequently, the graphs of the resulting temperature are compared. The bearing capacity of the ceiling board is evaluated based on the temperatures reached at the point of reinforcement.
