Péče o diabetického pacienta z pohledu optometristy

Abstract

Práca sa zaoberá charakterizáciou metabolického ochorenia Diabetes mellitus a starostlivosť o diabetického pacienta z pohľadu optometristu. Je dôležité, aby optometrista mal všeobecný prehľad o ochorení, ktoré vo svojej bežnej praxi môže stretnúť. Úvodná kapitola sa venuje anatómií a fyziológií oka s dôrazom na popis sietnice, ktorá pri tomto ochorení zohráva veľkú rolu. Práve Diabetes mellitus, spôsobuje pri vysokej hladiny glukózy v krvi upchatie a poškodenie ciev sietnice. Nasledujúce kapitoly sú samostatne venované klasifikácií diabetu, kde sú opísané príznaky, príčiny vzniku a komplikácie jednotlivých typov. Komplikácie vyskytujúce sa pri diabete môžu byť akútne, chronické alebo očné. V ďalšej kapitole je kladený zvláštny dôraz na diagnostické metódy a prístrojovú techniku, ktoré nám môžu pomôcť pri včasnom odhalení patologických javov súvisiacich s ochorením. Posledná kapitola sa zameriava na liečebné metódy, kde sa pri okamžitom zakročení môže zlepšiť zdravotný stav pacienta a dokáže tak zvýšiť kvalitu života nie jednému diabetikovi. Pokračovaním teoretickej časti je praktická časť, ktorá overuje zistené teoretické poznatky.

The work deals with the characterization of the metabolic disease Diabetes mellitus and the care of a diabetic patient from the perspective of an optometrist. It is important that the optometrist has a general overview of the illness he or she may encounter in his or her daily practice. The introductory chapter deals with the anatomy and physiology of the eye with emphasis on the description of the retina, which plays a major role in this disease. Diabetes mellitus, when high blood glucose levels cause obstruction and damage to the retinal vessels. The following chapters are devoted to the classification of diabetes, which describes the symptoms, causes and complications of each type. Complications of diabetes can be acute, chronic or ocular. In the next chapter, special emphasis is placed on diagnostic methods and instrumentation, which can help us in the early detection of pathological phenomena related to the disease. The last chapter focuses on treatment methods, where immediate intervention can improve the patient's health and thus improve the quality of life of not a single diabetic. The continuation of the theoretical part is the practical part, which verifies the identified theoretical knowledge
