Prognozování sportovních utkání

Abstract

Diplomová práce se zabývá prognózou sportovních utkání ve vybraném segmentu sportu. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části a veškeré informace jsou získány na základě literární re-šerše a analýzy dat. Teoretická část definuje kvantitativní a kvalitativní prognostické me-tody a jejich využití, kupříkladu brainstorming, metodu Delphi či panel expertů. Pro tuto práci byla zvolena metoda, pomocí které profesor Allan Lichtman úspěšně předpovídá vý-sledky amerických prezidentských voleb. Pro aplikaci na sportovní segment byla metoda modifikována. Dále teoretická část obsahuje základní poznatky o sportu, jako je vliv na společnost, historie, dělení, financování či právní postavení sportovních klubů. V navazující praktické části je provedena samotná aplikace již zmíněné prognostické metody. Predikce, která se uskuteční v rámci turnaje mistrovství světa v ledním hokeji v roce 2022, se zabý-vá výsledky hokejových utkání. Předběžné zjištěné výsledky prokázaly, že metoda je apli-kovatelná pro segment sportu. Cílem diplomové práce je tedy ověřit, zda je tato modifi-kace použitelná i mimo politický sektor, a může se tak stát pro společnost přínosem.

The diploma thesis deals with the prognosis of sports matches in a selected segment of sport. The thesis is divided into two parts and all information is obtained on the basis of literature search and data analysis. The theoretical part defines quantitative and qualita-tive prognostic methods and their use, for example brainstorming, Delphi method or panel of experts. For this thesis, the chosen method is the one used by Professor Allan Lichtman to successfully forecast the results of the US presidential elections. For the ap-plication to the sport segment, the method was modified. Furthermore, the theoretical part contains basic knowledge about sport like influence on society, history, division, fi-nancing or legal status of sports clubs. In the following practical part the application of the mentioned prognostic method is performed. The prediction, which will take place as part of the 2022 Ice Hockey World Cup tournament, deals with the results of hockey matches. Provisional results have shown that the method is applicable to a segment of the sport. The aim of the thesis is to verify, if this modification is usable also outside the political sector and can thus become a benefit for society.
