The diploma thesis is focused on the installation of a boiler room for the purposes of heating and hot water preparation in an apartment building in Slaný and on the subsequent energy-economic evaluation of the operation. At the beginning of the thesis, the current legislation is summarized in connection with the evaluation of the energy performance of buildings in connection with the analysis of the present condition of the evaluated apartment building. The used building structures are evaluated in terms of heat dissipation. Then heat loss and heat demand for heating are calculated. Furthermore, the existing HVAC systems are described and the heat demand for hot water preparation is calculated. The calculated values are compared with the values of actual consumption from previous years. In the next chapter, various possibilities of supplying the apartment building with thermal energy are presented. The current heat supply from the heat supply system and the problems faced by the heating industry are described. Other subchapters are devoted to the possible technologies of the boiler room in the apartment building. Then specific variants of boiler rooms are processed based on the calculated energy needs of the evaluated apartment building. In the first variant, a cascade of gas condensing boilers is proposed. In the second variant, a cascade of air-water heat pumps is proposed; and in the last variant, two cogeneration units are designed. An annual energy balance was prepared for all variants. In the final chapter, the proposed variants are compared in economic terms with the current state and subsequently with each other. Sensitivity analyses are used for comparison.
