Překlad do kruhového písma jazyka gallifreyan

Abstract

Tato práce se zabývá fiktivním jazykem gallifreyan či Gallifreyan language, který se objevuje v britském televizním seriálu Doctor Who, česky Pán času. Konkrétně práce studuje circular gallifreyan, jednu z abeced, která se používá pro zápis zmíněného jazyka. Přestože abeceda nemá oficiální specifikaci, existuje mnoho návodů, které vytvořili fanoušci seriálu. Práce si klade za cíl seznámit čtenáře s těmi nejznámějšími, jako například s návodem od Lorena Shermana, vysvětlit, jak fungují a podrobně popsat překlad z latinky do circular gallifreyan. Tento překlad je následně v praxi implementován jako zásuvný modul do 3D modelovacího softwaru Blender. Modul přeloží psaný text do kruhového jazyka a vykreslí jej jako 3D objekt. Zároveň umožní parametrizaci překladu a podoby vykreslovaných kruhů.This thesis is focused on the fictional Gallifreyan language, which appears in the British TV show Doctor Who. To be more specific, the thesis studies circular Gallifreyan is one of the alphabets used for writing in the mentioned language. Although circular Gallifreyan does not have an official specification from the authors of the TV show, many fan-made guidelines exist. The thesis aims to acquaint the reader with the most known ones, such as Loren Sherman’s guidelines, explain them, and describe the translation between Latin script and circular Gallifreyan. This translation is then used and implemented as a plug-in for 3D modeling software Blender. The plug-in translates written text in the circular language and renders it as a 3D object. It also enables parameterization of the translation and appearance of the drawn circles.
