Interpretace obchodních center jako součást urbánní struktury

Abstract

Ve své disertační práci se zabývám vlivem obchodních center na urbanismus města. Ke svému zkoumání vybírám osobně navštívená obchodní centra (jak česká, tak zahraniční), u kterých rozlišuji jejich umístění v rámci města. Jsou to obchodní centra na okraji města (edge of town), mimo historické jádro (out of centre) a na hranici historického jádra (edge of centre). Obchodní centra vznikla jako suburbánní projekty, stavěná u dálnic na okrajích amerických měst , a jako taková se ekonomickou globalizací za pomoci nadnárodních společností rozšířila do měst po celém světě . Tím došlo ke střetu nově implementovaného stavebního typu se stávající městskou strukturou. Cílem této disertační práce je interpretace vztahu obchodních center ke městu a definování důsledků, které z tohoto vztahu vyplývají.

In my Doctoral Thesis I deal with the impact of shopping centers on the city structure. For my research I personally visited selected shopping centers (both Czech and foreign), which I distinguished according to their location within the city - edge of town, out of center and edge of center. Shopping centers have emerged as suburban projects, built at highways on the outskirts of American cities , and with economic globalization they have expanded worldwide and into city centers . This created a conflict of the newly implemented building type with the existing urban structure. The aim of this dissertation is to interpret the urban relationship between shopping centers and the city and to define the consequences of this relationship.
