dc.description.abstractThis thesis describes the calibration process of the start for a mass production Flex-fuel direct-injection engine running on neat ethanol. This process is composed of several aspects from the software and calibration documentation to measurements on vehicle. First, a brief description of the different tools used is made to understand what is available to calibrate an engine. After choosing several parameters that impact the start of the engine, this study explains the different strategies to obtain the parameters previously selected in the documentation. Then, these parameters are modified and measured in order to list the impact of each parameter on the start of the engine. The results of the calibration measurements are analyzed in order to obtain an engine start which corresponds as much as possible to Bosch definition and criteria of an engine start.cze
