Strakonice - revitalizace nábřeží Otavy

Abstract

Strakonice, město folklóru a dudácké muziky, město na soutoku zlatonosné Otavy a Volyňky s dlouholetou vodáckou tradicí, s pivovarem a středověkým hradem v jeho samotném centru. Dvaceti tisícové okresní město ležící v kotlině mezi kopci a lesy, s říčním korytem zaříznutém ve skalním masivu romantického zalesněného údolí Podskalí. Město s výjimečnými krajinnými prvky na dosah historickému centru a s možností kontaktu člověka s řekou po celé délce toku Otavy. Avšak idylu střídá realita a Strakonice zároveň nazvěme městem s obrovským nevyužívaným potenciálem, bezesporu mnoha devastujícími historickými zásahy do struktury města, nevhodnými investicemi a diskutabilními rozvojovými plány. Diplomová práce řeší celkový pohled na průtok Otavy městem jako na páteřní rekreační oblast, poukazuje na problémy a hledá nová řešení po obou březích říčního toku. Jedním z těchto problémových úseků je také sportovní areál Na Křemelce, jehož celková revitalizace je rovněž náplní této práce.

Strakonice is a small town on the confluence of the Otava and Volyňka rivers, famous for its folklore and bagpipe festivals. The town is also indelibly related to a long-time tradition of paddling activities, its own brewery and medieval castle in the heart of the town. Strakonice, a little town with 20.000 inhabitants, is situated among hills and forests. On the outskirts of the town, the Otava river bed flows through rock massif and creates beautiful romantic valley called Podskalí. Thanks to its rich history the town has a historical centre of grate value. Owing to the Otava river and its gorgeous surroundings one still feel close to the nature. Strakonice is undoubtedly a town of great potencial which unfortunately stays unfulfilled. In the past, several devastating invasions into historical structures and inappropriate business investments changed the town´s appearance and caused great damages. The aim of the thesis is to show the Otava river flow rate as a dominant resort suitable for relax and sport activities in its comprehensiveness. The thesis also points out particular problems and suggest new ways of use of the area by which the river flow rate is surrounded. One of the most problematic areas is sport complex Na Křemelce. The project of its revitalisation is one of the parts of this thesis as well.
