Vylepšení webových stránek pro turistický portál

Abstract

Práce se zabývá vylepšením webových stránek turistického portálu AmericanTravelShow.com hostovaných pomocí redakčního systému WordPress. V rámci práce je provedena oprava šablony a vývoj nového pluginu pro obnovení stránky s vybranými příspěvky jednou denně. Dále je přiblíženo rozdělení velkého pluginu Video Playlists Manager obsahujícího správu videí, seznamu videí a přehrávače na tři menší pluginy. Součástí tohoto rozdělení je oprava vytvoření nového seznamu videí a správa videí z platformy YouTube. Pro zlepšení komfortu administrátora je přidána informace o úspěšnosti odeslání emailu o nedostupnosti YouTube videí a automatické skrytí příspěvků s nedostupnými videi. Poslední změnou je výměna použitého přehrávače videí Plyr za přehrávač Video.js, jehož vývoj je stále aktivní. Implementované změny odpovídají požadavkům specifikovaným zadavatelem s výjimkou streamování YouTube videí pomocí Google Cast a změny jsou nasazeny a otestovány. Výsledkem je obnovená funkčnost stránek s několika novými prvky pro pohodlí administrátora a systém pluginů s integrovaným přehrávačem, který je lépe připravený na budoucí udržbu.

The aim of this thesis is to improve the tourist portal website AmericanTravelShow.com, which is hosted using the WordPress content management system. The theme template of the website is fixed and new plugin is developed to refresh posts on spotlight once per day as part of this work. The thesis includes splitting the large plugin Video Playlists Manager, responsible for management of videos, playlists and player, into three smaller plugins. As part of this refactor, the functionality of creating a new playlist and management of YouTube video availability checking is restored. To make the administrator's work more convenient, information about the success of sending emails regarding unavailable YouTube videos has been added, along with the automatic hiding of posts with unavailable videos. The final improvement is replacing the previously used Plyr video player with the Video.js player, which is under active development. The implemented changes meet the requirements specified by the client, except for streaming YouTube videos via Google Cast, and the changes have been deployed and tested. The result of this work is a restored functionality of the website with several added elements for the administrator's convenience, and a plugin system with an integrated player that is better prepared for future maintenance.
