Současná proměna role architekta

Abstract

Povolání architekta v současnosti prochází významnými tlaky na změny nejen v souvislosti s nástupem AI, přičemž aktuální situace snese srovnání s málokterými dynamickými historickými obdobími, ve kterých se odehrávaly nejvýznamnější proměny svobodných povolání obecně. Disertační práce nejprve na podkladu stručného historického exkurzu ujasňuje dosavadní vývoj výkonu povolání, právně ukotvuje aktuální definici „architekta“ a dále si klade otázky – co, proč a jak se mění na výkonu povolání v České republice od roku 2009 (v kontextu trans-atlantického prostoru); jaký je potenciál případné proměny; a jakou chceme budoucnost, resp. na co se máme připravit? Zvolenou kvalitativní metodou je analýza polo-strukturovaných expertních rozhovorů s třiceti architektkami a architekty, mezi kterými nechybí děkanové nebo významní představitelé všech škol architektury v České republice (včetně škol krajinářských) nebo předseda České komory architektů. Na základě výsledků rozhovorů pokrývajících celé spektrum výkonu povolání je nejprve identifikováno, že povolání architekta aktuálně prochází sebereflexí, přičemž je testována umělecko-stavitelská tradice a dochází k rozšiřování pole působnosti. V tom kontextu jsou následně diskutovány tři okruhy problematik – vliv technologické revoluce na způsob, charakter a hodnotu práce; tlak na specializaci a interdisciplinární rozptyl kompetencí v souvislosti s modely architekta generalisty a architekta specialisty; a etablování výkonu správy včetně potřeby její definice i vymezení kompetencí. V závěru se práce zaměřuje na vztah architektonického vzdělávání a odborné způsobilosti, přičemž je identifikován zásadní význam a potřeba inventury celoživotního vzdělávání, které je aktuálně v České republice výrazně podceněno. Disertační práce vytvořila využitelný základ pro rozvahy o obsahu, rozsahu a formách univerzitního vzdělávání architektů i přípravu programových dokumentů a politik profesní organizace. A to s ohledem k aktuálnímu charakteru dynamicky se projevujícího společenského kontextu charakteristického zvyšováním komplexity vystavěného prostředí a souvisejícím prolínání věd – proto se práce dotýká i tématu trans-disciplinarity.

The architectural profession is currently undergoing significant pressures for change, not only particularly in the context of the rise of AI, with the current situation comparable to few dynamic historical periods that witnessed the most significant transformations in professions in general. The dissertation first provides a brief historical overview to clarify the evolution of the profession, legally anchors the current definition of "architect," and further raises questions – what, why, and how changes in the practice of the profession in the Czech Republic since 2009 (in the context of the transatlantic space); what potential does such transformation hold; and what future do we envision, or rather, what should we prepare for? The chosen qualitative method involves analyzing semi-structured expert interviews with thirty architects, including deans or prominent representatives of all architecture schools in the Czech Republic (including landscape schools) or the president of the Czech Chamber of Architects. Based on the results of interviews covering the entire spectrum of professional practice, it is first identified that the architectural profession is currently undergoing self-reflection, testing artistic-builder traditions, and expanding the scope of activity. In this context, three areas of issues are subsequently discussed – the impact of the technological revolution on the manner, character, and value of work; pressure for specialization and interdisciplinary dispersion of competencies in relation to models of the generalist architect and the specialist architect; and the establishment of governance performance, including the need for its definition and delineation of competencies. In conclusion, the work focuses on the relationship between architectural education and professional competence, identifying the crucial importance and need for an inventory of lifelong learning, which is currently significantly underestimated in the Czech Republic. The dissertation provides a useful basis for deliberations on the content, scope, and forms of university education for architects, as well as the preparation of program documents and policies for professional organization. This is in consideration of the current character of the dynamically evolving social context characterized by increasing complexity of the built environment and the related interweaving of sciences – thus, the work also touches on the topic of transdisciplinarity.
