This thesis deals with the effects of various parameters on tensile tests and the cold forming process. The greatest emphasis is placed on changes in properties with temperatures approaching the upper limit of cold forming. The theoretical part first deals with general laws, parameters and findings relevant to the forming process. Attention is paid especially to the deformation mechanisms, the influence of the chemical composition of the tested CR4 steel and the state of the material before forming. It focused then on the effect of temperature and deformation rate, the tensile test itself and the simulation of forming. The experimental part focused on testing the CR4 material at different temperatures and speeds. The heating method was continuously developed. As part of the development, the temperature field was examined during chosen tests with a thermal camera. Finally, an analysis of the microstructure of the fracture region was made. This work aimed to deepen the knowledge about the behavior of the tested material at elevated temperatures in the range of cold forming, as previously obtained data indicated a greater influence than expected. Another goal was the development and recommendations for further testing at these temperatures to enable the construction of a more robust material card for more accurate simulations of the behavior of the tested material.
