Architektura kin jako rozhraní ve vztahu k filmu

Abstract

Dvacáté století s sebou přineslo film. Médium natolik silné, že se z jednoduché formy audiovizuální zábavy stalo výrazným fenoménem charakterizujícím celé století. Médium, které podnítilo komputerizaci a později digitalizaci celé společnosti. Tato disertační práce systematicky analyzuje architekturu kin jako klíčové rozhraní v kontextu filmu a zkoumá vývoj této symbiotické interakce od počátků kinematografie až po současnost. Zaměřuje se na stav a význam kin v kulturním a společenském rámci dvacátého století, s důrazem na historický kontext derivující současnou situaci budov pro promítání na území Prahy. Práce tak umožňuje nastínit předpokládaný budoucí vývoj. Klíčový aspekt tohoto výzkumu tvoří detailní pohled na typologii kina, jeho využití, oblibu kolektivního sledování filmu v jednotlivých časových etapách a s tím související požadavky na architekturu budov pro promítání jako takovou. Analytický rozbor se také věnuje vztahům mezi různými typy kin a jejich transformacím na multifunkční nebo úplně nové využití v moderním prostředí s ohledem na jejich architektonickou a historickou hodnotu. Analeptická část práce poskytuje stručnou historii filmu, včetně tradice promítání, a sleduje vývoj filmu v českém kontextu. Součástí práce jsou i případové studie, které analyzují současnou situaci pražských a zahraničních kin, jejich architektonické trendy, stejně jako transformace kinematografických prostorů na nová využití. Ambicí této disertační práce je zhodnotit význam těchto objektů, zhodnotit jejich schopnost vzájemné koexistence a formulovat optimální řešení pro zachování architektonicky cenných kin jako kulturního dědictví, které zohledňuje jejich historický kontext, památkovou ochranu a ekonomickou udržitelnost.

The twentieth century brought with it film. A medium so powerful that it turned from a simple form of audiovisual entertainment into a distinctive phenomenon characterizing the entire century. The medium that spurred the computerization and later digitization of the entire society. This doctoral thesis systematically analyzes cinema architecture as a key interface in the context of film and explores the evolution of this symbiotic interaction from the beginnings of cinema to the present. It focuses on the status and importance of cinemas in the cultural and social framework of the twentieth century, with an emphasis on the historical context deriving the current situation of spaces for film projection in the territory of Prague and allows the assumption of future development. A key aspect of this research is a detailed look at the typology of film theaters, their use, the popularity of collective viewing of the film in the course of time and the associated architectural requirements for screening venues. The analysis is also devoted to the relationships between different types of cinemas and their transformations in a modern environment to multifunctional or converted uses with regard to their architectural and historical value. The analeptic part of the work provides a brief history of film and the tradition of screening and follows the development of film in the Czech context. The thesis also includes case studies that analyze the current situation of Prague cinemas, foreign cinemas and their architectural trends, as well as the transformation of cinematographic spaces into converted uses. The ambition of this doctoral thesis is to evaluate the significance of these objects, their ability to co-exist with each other and to formulate an optimal solution for the preservation of architecturally valuable cinema buildings as cultural heritage, which takes into account their historical context, historic preservation and economic sustainability.
