The diploma thesis is focused on modeling the influence of flexible operation of nuclear power plants on the shape of the Czech energy industry and the technical-economic characteristics of nuclear power plants. The research part of the work is focused on two areas, which are the description of the TIMES model generator and the TIMES model used in this work, and the theory of flexible operation of nuclear power plants. The description of the model generator and the TIMES model extends the research project and is therefore more concise and focused on the practical side of working with the TIMES model generator. A larger part of the research is aimed at the theory of flexible operation of nuclear power plants, and its outcome is a summary of the capabilities of flexible operation of power plants with EPR, AP1000, APR-1400 and NuScale reactors. The capabilities of load-following operation of these power plants were then used as inputs to the TIMES model, and scenarios of the development of the Czech energy industry were modeled with their use. For the purpose of describing the flexible operation of nuclear power plants, the division of the day into eight three-hour segments was implemented in the model. Finally, the results of model scenarios were presented with an emphasis on comparing the influence of the mentioned power plant models on the Czech energy system and their technical and economic characteristics.
