dc.description.abstract | Při elektroencefalografickém vyšetření se zaznamenává elektrická aktivita mozku. Analýzou vzniklého EEG signálu lze určit neurologická onemocnění, například epilepsii projevující aktivitou typu ,,hrot-vlna". Jelikož je vizuální vyhodnocování signálu odborníkem velmi časově náročné, lze využít různé objektivní metody detekce význačných grafoelementů. V této práci je navrhována vhodná metodika detekce epileptické aktivity a impulzních artefaktů pomocí waveletové transformace. Jsou vytvořeny simulované signály pomocí autoregresního modelu. Každý z těchto signálů je 20 minut dlouhý a obsahuje náhodně vložené epileptické hroty s vlnou a impulzní artefakty. Statistickým vyhodnocením (porovnáním detekce se skutečnými hodnotami pozic grafoelementů) byly získány konfuzní matice (TP, FP, FN) a dále byly spočteny koeficienty senzitivita (TPR), přesnost (PPV) a chybovost (FNR). | cze |
dc.description.abstract | The electrical activity of the brain is recorded during the electroencephalographic examination. Analysis of the recorded EEG signal can determine a certain neurological disorder, such as epilepsy that manifests by 'spike-wave' activity. The signal evaluation is very time consuming, therefore various objective methods of detecting epileptic activity and impulse artifacts can be used. In this work, a methodology of detection by wavelet transform is proposed. Simulated signals are created using an autoregressive model. Each of these signals is 20 minutes long and contains randomly inserted epileptic spikes and impulse artifacts. Statistical evaluation of the detection (comparison with actual values of graphoelement positions) led to confusion matrices (TP, FP, FN) and also coefficients such as sensitivity (TPR), precision (PPV) and miss rate (FNR) were calculated. Output of this work also includes a graphical output for determining the detection threshold visually by a specialist. The wavelet detection method is statistically compared to the commonly used median filter. Comparison of confusion matrices and coefficients of graphoelement detection of simulated signals do not support the hypothesis that the DWT will have better results in detection than the median filter. The sensitivity (0,98), the precision (0,86) and the miss rate (0,02) were calculated for the DWT, the sensitivity (1,00), the precision (0,75) and the miss rate (0,00) for the median filter with the detection of epileptic activity. The proposed method of wavelet analysis was applied on the real EEG recordings of 16 seconds in length and evaluated by a specialist. | eng |
