GALERIE PRO SLOVANSKOU EPOPEJ CHOTKOVA

Abstract

Diplomová práce bude řešit galerii pro cyklus dvaceti obrazů Alfonse Muchy – Slovanskou epopej. Alfons Mucha obrazy daroval roku 1928 Praze pod podmínkou, že: „město Praha umístí hotové obrazy na vlastní náklady v budově výslovně vystavěné k tomuto účelu“. Nestanovil však pro postavení budovy žádnou lhůtu a tato podmínka nebyla dosud splněna. Téměř sto let poté je tak galerie pro tento cyklus stále aktuálním tématem města Prahy. Objekt galerie bude umístěn na parcelu nacházející se v silniční a tramvajové smyčce ulice Chotkova. Diplomová práce si klade za cíl najít vhodné architektonické řešení tohoto místa jakožto důstojného prostoru pro vystavování těchto mistrovských děl.

The subject of this diploma thesis is the gallery for a cycle of twenty paintings by Alfons Mucha - The Slav Epic. Alfons Mucha donated the paintings to Prague in 1928 under the condition that: “The City of Prague will place the finished paintings at its own expense in a building specifically designed for this purpose”. However, he did not set a deadline for realization of this building and this condition has not yet been fulfilled. Almost one hundred years later, the gallery for this cycle is still the current theme for the city of Prague. The gallery building will be located between the road Chotkova Street. The aim of the thesis is to find a suitable architectural solution for this place as a dignified space for exhibiting these masterpieces.
