The bachelor thesis deals with the study of nuclear materials, specifically the use of the D-T neutron generator in the nuclear industry. The thesis focuses on its applications to irradiation of fissile materials, prediction of enrichment of uranium material using the D-T neutron generator and introduction to the U-235 and U-238 decay series. In the experimental part of this work, radiation signatures of uranium were observed and the instrumentation used was described. The D-T neutron generator in the premises of the school reactor VR-1 was used to irradiate the sample under investigation, and then qualitative gammaspectrometry was performed using a semiconductor HPGe detector. The measured data were compared with the results from the simulation of the experiment performed by the PHITS code. Based on the comparison and the data obtained from the measurements, the fission products best suited for the determination of uranium enrichment were selected.
