Galerie Čestmíra Sušky a Arjany Shameti

Abstract

Navrhovaná stavba je galerie současného umění pod záštitou sochaře Čestmíra Sušky a jeho ženy, s přidruženými funkcemi umělecké dílny, divadelního sálu – auditoria a kavárny. Nachází se na Praze 2 – Karlově, je dvoupodlažní a hmotově doplňuje masiv původní terasové zahrady pod bastionem U Božích Muk. Rovina intenzivní vegetační střechy objektu navazuje na horní úroveň přilehlého terénu – stávající nevyužívaný park. Stavba tak zachovává a kultivuje zeleň v centru Prahy. Centrálním prostorem objektu je atrium – foyer, spojující hlavní funkce stavby i dva protilehlé vstupy, umístěné na rozdílných výškových úrovních. Je ústředním živoucím koridorem podtrhujícím kulturně – komunitní duch stavby.

The designed building is a gallery of contemporary art under the supervision of sculptor Čestmír Suška and his wife with additional uses of an art workshop, auditorium and café. Located in Prague 2 - Karlov, it is a two-storey building and and it completes the mass of an original terrace garden under the fortified wall U Božích Muk. The surface of the intensive vegetation roof connects to the upper level of the terrain of the existing unused park. The central space of the building is an atrium connecting the main functions as well as the two opposite main entrances, located on different height levels. It is a lively corridor underlining the cultural and community spirit of the building.
