This article deals with the effect of the tram wheel geometry defect on the total noise level caused by a passage of a tram vehicle. In the framework of the survey experimental acoustic measurements in-situ were made on selected tram line of the City of Prague with selected reference tram vehicles. The main goal of the experiment is to confirm and determine the acoustic contribution for driving a tram vehicle with a wheel with the correct geometry and for a flat wheeled vehicle. Next, the acoustic data will be subjected to a spectral analysis to determine dominant frequencies when passing with a flat wheel.
