ŠMILAUER, V., P. REITERMAN, and P. SCHOŘÍK. Odolnost cementů vůči tvorbě trhlinek během vysychání. BETON-technologie, konstrukce, sanace. 2022, 22(1), 64-67. ISSN 1213-3116.

Cement paste shrinkage during drying often causes visible surface cracking, which negatively affect the service life of the structure. Experiments show that cements with slow strength gain are much more resistant to cracking during drying. The paper presents the results of a unique test of 25 Portland and blended cements in a ring shrinkage test, which consistently confirm the beneficial effect of slower hydration. However, due to the growing pressure on the speed of construction, there are currently only a few of these cements available on the Czech market. The experimental results on the rings are supported by a hygro-mechanical model.
