This text summarizes some outputs
of research and other contributions in the
field of numerical methods for Lagrangian
and Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE)
hydrodynamic simulations of laser-plasma
interaction, on which its author collabo rated in recent years. Ten selected pub lished papers are briefly commented and
put into the perspective of contempo rary research. Particular topics include
new types of artificial viscosity, consistent
treatment of the equation of state, strate gies for symmetry preservation at various
stages of the ALE algorithm, techniques
for effective and solution-aware mesh re zoning, methods for synchronized flux corrected remapping, and a few examples
of real applications. Some of the author’s
ongoing research directions are presented
and related scientific plans for near future
mentioned.
