This bachelor's thesis focuses on the microstructural observations and the determination of the mechanical properties of selected high-entropy alloys using the instrumented indentation technique. First, review is conducted on the subject of high-entropy alloys, methods of their preparation and their testing. The experimental part first describes the method used to prepare samples of CoCrFeNiAl10, CoCrFeNiAl20 and CoCrFeNiAl30 alloys. Subsequently, the procedures for observing their microstructure and measuring mechanical properties (hardness, indentation elastic modulus, representative stress-representative strain curves) by instrumented indentation tests are given. Finally, the acquired data are presented and discussed, concluding that the increase of Al content in the alloy is associated with the phase transformation from FCC to BCC, which is the main factor behind the increase in hardness.
