Experimentální část této diplomové práce se věnuje studiu extrakčních vlastností roztoků 1-(11-merkaptoundecyl)imidazolu, (11-merkaptoundecyl)-N,N,N-trimethylammonium bromidu a 11-merkaptoundecyl fosfonové kyseliny. This thesis is focused on the study of extraction properties of selected functionalized thioalkanes for their potential use in preparing selectively sorbing self-assembled monolayers. The theoretical part of the work describes basic information about extractions and self-assembled monolayers, focusing on monolayers with alkanethiol chains. Furthermore, this work summarizes the principles of ion exchange chromatography as a system suitable for describing the sorption properties of self-assembled monolayers. The theoretical part concludes with a chapter on analytical methods for characterizing the properties of self-assembled monolayers, specifically ellipsometry and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The experimental part of this thesis focuses on the study of extraction properties of solutions of 1-(11-mercaptoundecyl)imidazole, (11-mercaptoundecyl)-N,N,N-trimethylammonium bromide, and 11-mercaptoundecyl phosphonic acid. Furthermore, the preparation of self-assembled monolayers from solutions of these functionalized thioalkanes is described, along with the study of sorption properties in "on-line" experiments using carrier-free radionuclides prepared in the reaction of accelerated 3He2+ ions with selected target foils using the MARGE facility at the U120M accelerator at the Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Experimental results showed that the solution of 11-mercaptoundecyl phosphonic acid successfully extracted europium from both HNO3 and HCl with an efficiency above 90 %. The formation of self-assembled monolayers from this solution was confirmed by XPS measurement, and their thickness was determined by ellipsometry to be 2.9 - 3.5 nm. On-line experiments demonstrated successful sorption of 165Tm and 49Cr on the prepared monolayers, but without the required selectivity. The extraction of thallium using (11-mercaptoundecyl)-N,N,N-trimethylammonium bromide was unsuccessful. The study also identified the need for further research in thallium extraction by alkanethiols, investigation of sorption of other radionuclides onto self-assembled monolayers, and optimization of the preparation and detection of mercury isotopes produced on the cyclotron.
