Abstract
This work aims at modelling and CFD simulations of flow in an aquaculture tank that is used for fish breeding. As the fish production is really important for food industry, higher efficiencies can be reached by optimizing the crucial parameters inside tank environment. Distribution of the feed pellets and their settling, flow velocities and other parameters are important factors that will be monitored throughout the work. The flow characteristics in the aquaculture were investigated with varying the inlet velocities and the changing the solution methods. Turbulence models k-epsilon and k-omega were used for numerical analysis. The mean velocity versus the depth of the tank were represented for various circulating flow rates. CFD is a necessary tool in this design to determine optimal parameters before comparing it to the experimental results.
