Abstract
Game theory provides a framework for understanding optimal decision-making with self-interested agents. It has been used to solve complex games like Chess or Poker. This thesis focuses on two-player zero-sum games with imperfect information, where agents must make decisions under uncertainty. We investigate both offline and online game-playing algorithms and search methods, offering insights into their guarantees. In addition to charaterizing existing methods, we introduce new techniques, including a meta-learning framework to speed up finding equilibria and Monte Carlo Continual Resolving (MCCR) for online strategy computation.A particle-based neural network approach is also proposed to manage the exponential growth of belief states in imperfect-information games. These innovations aim to make game-solving algorithms more scalable and applicable to a wider range of complex, real-world scenarios
