V rámci kvantitativní lingvistiky byly potvrzeny odlišnosti v relativní četnosti spojek a frekventovanosti použitých slov. V prozódických parametrech byly signifikantní rozdíly nalezeny v tempu řeči a v průměrné délce pauz. Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder whose main symptoms include speech disorders. With approximately 1% prevalence in the world population. Successful treatment of schizophrenia is greatly aided by correct and early diagnosis. The aim of this work is to propose and test potential language biomarkers that could aid in the diagnosis of schizophrenia. Speech recordings of six schizophrenia patients and age-matched healthy controls were used in this work. Their speech was recorded during four different types of tasks focusing on spontaneous speech and reading. Analyses were performed based on the characteristic speech manifestations of schizophrenia using lexical semantics, natural language processing, latent semantic analysis and prosodic parameters. Statistically significant results were evaluated for the investigated valence parameters and arousal emotional analysis and sentiment analysis. Differences in the relative frequency of conjunctions and the frequency of words used were confirmed within the quantitative linguistics framework. In prosodic parameters, significant differences were found in speech rate and in the average length of pauses. The results also suggest that tasks based on spontaneous speech, which are likely to involve higher cognitive activity, are more appropriate for the diagnosis of schizophrenia than tasks based on simple reading. It was confirmed that semantic parameters may be helpful in the future diagnosis of schizophrenia from speech.
